ITA - Il mondo delle corse ippiche in Italia ha subito negli ultimi anni un forte decadimento causato principalmente dalla mancanza di fondi utili e necessari per il suo sostentamento (un tempo largamente garantito da finanziamenti privati). Le corse negli anni '80 e '90 son state il fulcro dell'intrattenimento popolare in gran parte del Meridione e l'ippodromo "Paolo VI" (nell'entroterra tarantino in Puglia) ha mantenuto una notevole importanza nel panorama equestre internazionale: cavalli e scuderie di un valore immenso arrivano da tutto il mondo per competere e fomentare gli appassionati durante fiere e gare.
Attualmente l'ippica riversa in acque torbide e cerca costantemente, con esorbitante fatica, di riemergere seppur le attenzioni mosse nei suoi confronti attualmente non siano affatto paragonabili a quelle che tanto lo alimentavano negli anni del suo massimo splendore. Questo progetto mira a mostrare le briciole e il "dietro le quinte" di una realtà che rischia di scomparire ma che però si mantiene in bilico sull'orlo di un oblio grazie all'amore ed alla passione tramandati da generazioni in generazioni nei confronti di questo sport che, più che sport, rappresenta uno stile di vita.
Il sangue, il sudore, la polvere negli occhi, animale e uomo dediti l'uno per l'altro che si fondono divenendo inseparabili con un unico solo obiettivo… vincere.
ENG - The world of horse racing in Italy has suffered a strong decline in recent years mainly caused by the lack of useful and necessary funds for its livelihood (once largely guaranteed by private funding). The races in the 80s and 90s were the fulcrum of folkloristic entertainment in most of the South, the "Paolo VI" hippodrome (in the Taranto hinterland in Puglia) has maintained a considerable importance in the international equestrian scene: horses and stables of immense value come from all over the world to compete and foment fans during fairs and races.
Currently, horse racing pours into bad waters and it constantly tries to re-emerge even if the attention paid to it currently is not at all comparable to those that fed it so much in the years of its maximum splendor. This project aims to show the crumbs and the "behind the scenes" of a reality which is in danger of disappearing but however stands on the verge of oblivion thanks to the love and passion handed down from generation to generation towards this sport which, more than a sport, represents a lifestyle.
The blood, the sweat, the dust in the eyes, animal and man dedicated to each other that merge becoming inseparable with a single goal ... winning.
